It’s not always easy to plan ahead, in fact, sometimes it takes everything you’ve got just to get out of the door. How many of us have signed up for a series of classes for our little ones, only to miss half of them because of the unexpected: a surprise nap or a sudden tantrum? Here are a few drop-in programs where you can decide fairly last minute and don’t have to commit to a set series.

Morning Buddies (ages 0-4)
Yountville Community Center
Wednesdays | 10:15-11:15 am
This playgroup is designed to encourage little ones to play and explore in a fun (and safe) environment. Afterwards, head next door for Family Storytime at 11:15 am. Parent participation required.

Wiggle Room (ages 0-4)
Las Flores Community Center, Napa
Fridays | 9:45 am-12:45 pm
This is a fun, unstructured program where you and your little one can come get the wiggles out. The gym is set up with a variety of equipment designed to contribute to the physical, intellectual, and social development of your child. Parent participation required.

Me and My Shadow (1 and 2-year-olds)
Gymnastics Zone, Napa
Monday-Saturday | 10-10:45 am (1-year-olds), 11-11:45 am (2-year-olds)
These classes are designed to encourage development of self-confidence, strength, coordination, motor skills and personal awareness with your child. The class includes free play, circle time, follow the leader, parachute time, songs, bubbles and stamps! On the first Saturday of every month from 8:30-9:45 am, there is a drop-in program for ages 3 to 5 with special needs. Parent participation required.

Ro Sham Bo: Toddler Drop-in Studio (ages 2-6)
Nimbus Arts, St. Helena
1st and 3rd Saturdays | 9:30-11:30 am
Mini artists are encouraged to play and explore, exposing them to a variety of media and styles in order to set their young minds free. Kids will do free-form, heavyweight, mixed-media creations in 2D and 3D, using paint, ceramics, collage, construction, found objects, and of course, glitter. Best part is you don’t have to clean up afterwards! Ages 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Note: No class May 7.

Wine Country Crossfit Kids (ages 5-9)
Wine Country Crossfit, Napa
Mondays and Wednesdays | 3:35-4:20 pm
CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program specifically designed for kids to help them develop a lifelong love of fitness. In a group setting, children participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well-rounded athletes.

Walk-in Wednesdays (all ages)
Connolly Ranch, Napa
First Wednesday | 3-5 pm
The first Wednesday of every month, Connolly Ranch is open for the public to visit the garden, relax in the grove, take a hike on the woodland trail and see the animals. The Ranch also offers special programs on the second Saturday of each month (Little Farmers for ages 0-4 and Playday on the Farm for ages 4-12). Parent participation required for Little Farmers.

Dive Into Color (ages 3 and up)
1757 Tanen Street, Napa
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday | 11am – 6pm

Thursday until 8 pm; Saturday and Sunday until 5 pm
Closed Mondays
Dive into Color is a drop-in art studio where you can paint your own pottery, make your own pottery, do mosaic art, and fused glass. Be creative, have fun, gather together, learn something new! Anyone can do it, and we have the staff to show you how.

Rockzilla (ages 3 and up)
849 Jackson Street #5A, Napa
Monday-Saturday |10 am-9 pm; Sunday until 6 pm
Napa’s one and only climbing gym offers day passes (harness and shoes available for rent) as well as monthly memberships. No matter what your rope-climbing fix is, Rockzilla has it covered. From steep slabs to multiple arches there are different levels of difficultly everywhere to fit your niche. They offer over 64 top rope walls, an amphitheater for experienced lead climbers only and several chimneys.

Storytelling
