Are you running out of activities for your beastly bunch? Nothing spices up the conversation quite like having a giraffe drop by to say hello from the
Safari West preserve in Sonoma! Join the fun on May 23, 2020 at 10:00 am for the Cameo Cinema’s first-ever “Zoomfari” digital adventure.
At “Zoomfari” you can interact in real time with the giraffes and ask question of the expert game rangers who care for these amazing animals. Cathy Buck, the theater’s owner and Creative Director, will be hosting this completely unscripted and unpredictable safari adventure. Safari West’s wildlife ecologist, Alex Coburn will be your “Zoomfari” guide and take your questions live from the Preserve.
We are pairing “The Woman Who Loves Giraffes,” part of our popular Science on Screen® Series, with the Giraffe “Zoomfari” for Memorial Day weekend. This documentary follows Dr. Anne Innis Dagg as she retraces her groundbreaking 1956 journey to study giraffes in the wild. At 87, Dagg remains passionate, funny and modest and is the heart of this movie, rated 100% Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes. Movie Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online on the Cameo On Demand page or use the link below. Tickets fund the Cameo during the COVID19 closure.
You can reserve your FREE “Zoomfari” seat HERE.
“Enjoying wild animals in their natural environment is just one way to enhance your experience of seeing the world you live in,” says Cathy. “We still are engaged in a lively public discussion on climate, so I wanted to use the power of film to celebrate the wild places on Earth and stewardship of the environment.”
We are standing by to steal the show Memorial Day weekend with this up-close-and-personal wildlife action and movie! This Science on Screen event is an opportunity to explore the science of wildlife conservation. Because of the current shelter-at-home directive, the movie is only available on our On Demand Cinema platform from May 23 to May 25, 2020. The live “Zoomfari” experience is only available May 23, 2020 at 10:00 am when you RSVP HERE.
