American Canyon kicks off its 4th of July celebration with a pancake breakfast at the Boys & Girls Club nfrom 7-11 am, followed by a parade themed “Celebrating America’s Heroes” at 10:30 am at Community Park II. The 4th of July Festival featuring activities for the whole family kicks off at 12 noon, with flag raising ceremony, children’s games, food, entertainment, and more! Fireworks are scheduled for approximately 9:30 pm. If you want to keep on the move, join the fireworks hike at Newell Open Space Preserve. Meet at 8 pm at the Newell Open Space Trailhead located at the corner of Newell Drive and Donaldson Way East. Participants will hike about 1/2 mile to the viewing spot just past the gate and set up chairs and blankets. Enjoy some hot chocolate and snacks while you wait for the sky to darken. From this higher elevation you should be able to see fireworks from American Canyon, Vallejo, Crockett, and even Marin.
Calistoga’s patriotic celebration provides a host of activities throughout the day, all leading up to the dark hour of fireworks time! Kick-off your day with Calistoga’s annual 4th of July Parade through downtown Calistoga. Starting at 11 am, cheer on floats, dancers, horses, and more as they travel down Cedar Street, Lincoln Avenue, and Fair Way. Take in the procession of floats, dancing horses, and special entries from the sidelines and then join the culminating marching band, New Era Beats Brigade, as they make the short trek to the Napa County Fairgrounds for an unforgettable jubilee! The gates will open at noon along with the carnival, food, games, and music. It’s a throwback to the classics with a water balloon toss, gunny sack races and egg an spoon races, plus, ice cream churnament, and even a watermelon eating contest!. The social really gets underway at 6 pm when everyone makes their way into the grass infield to enjoy their picnic and get ready to watch the fireworks.
The City of Napa’s festivities begins at 10 am with a fun, patriotic and family-friendly
parade, organized by the Napa Sunrise Rotary Club, starting at Second and School Streets. This year’s Grand Marshal is Napa Valley College’s Oscar de Haro and the theme is Celebrating the American Dream.” In the evening at Oxbow Commons, Napa Parks & Rec hosts Napa Lights the Valley, featuring free live music, festival food, and a Kids Zone featuring arts and crafts, carnival games and family activities. The party gets started at 5 pm with live entertainment on stage until 9:30 pm when it’s time for fireworks. Enjoy the show from Oxbow Commons, 1st Street Bridge, Veterans Park, and Riverfront Green Park.
Also on 4th of July, our friends at Vista Collina are hosting Red, White & Rosé from 1 to 4 pm on the Village Lawn. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the beautiful Village Lawn to celebrate July 4th the Wine Country way. Enjoy BBQ by Chef Vincent Lesage, refreshing wine and cocktails, lawn games, and live music while the kids participate in activities just for them. Tickets are $15/adults (includes a glass of wine) and $10/kids age 5-12 (includes access to children’s activities. BBQ and additional drinks available for purchase.
Deck out your bike and join Last year’s bike parade was such a hit, St. Helena is bringing it back and extending the route for 2019. Decorate your bike and join the festive bike parade down Hunt Ave starting at 4 pm. The parade will make its way to Lyman Park where, starting at 5:30 pm there will be a community concert, then make your way to Crane Park and claim your viewing spot on the West Baseball Field or St Helena Primary School field for the fireworks show. Free family-friendly activities will be held on the West Baseball Field from 6:30 pm -8:30 pm. Food will be available for purchase from the Snack Shack (thank you St Helena Little League!) and beverages from the Beer & Wine Garden in the Crane Park Baseball Field Parking lot.
Head up to the Vintner’s Golf Course to get the best view of the fireworks, which will start around 9 pm.
