“Finish your vegetables” often becomes a phrase of the past when kids discover the diversity and deliciousness of fresh produce at the farmers’ market. Not only does the market provide a fertile playground for kids, it’s a great outing for the entire family. Shopping at the farmers’ markets supports healthy, sustainable eating; gives us the opportunity to learn more about where our food comes from; and it’s just plain fun — we run into friends, have a little breakfast, plan our dinner menu, and maybe even do a little dancing.
