Sometimes a kiddie pool just isn’t enough on a hot day. There are a number of swimming pools throughout the valley where your family can have some fun and cool off this summer. Calistoga Community Pool
Open now through August 10
Monday-Thursday, 1-4 pm; Friday, 1-5 pm; Saturday and Sunday, Noon-4 pm
Daily fees, 10-visit pass or season pass options
Calistoga Community Pool is actually two pools, one that is ideal for younger children as the entire pool is shallow and has a wading area, and the second, deeper with an excellent diving board.

Makai Swim School, Napa
Open now through October 9
Mondays-Thursdays, Noon-4 pm and 7-9 pm; Fridays, Noon-5 pm; Saturdays, noon-9 pm; Sundays, 9 am-9pm; Daily drop-in or annual membership
Makai Swim School recently moved to a new location behind Congregation Beth Shalom and now offers family swim. Practice swimming with your child before or after scheduled lessons in this 90 degree pool, where a lifeguard is always on duty. Snacks and coffee available for purchase.

Philip West Aquatics Center, American Canyon
Open now through October 2
June 4-October 2, Saturday and Sunday, 2-5 pm; June 13-August 12, Monday-Friday, 1:15-4 pm. Daily swim fee and summer passes available; discount for American Canyon residents
The Aquatics Center features a 25-yard swimming pool, wading pool, snack bar, open turf areas, chaise lounges and usually lots of sun!

Yountville Community Pool, Yountville
Opens June 11 (through September 5)
Tuesday-Sunday, Noon-4 pm; Weekends only from 8/20-9/5
Yountville Residents and Family Pass holders have additional free open swim times Saturday and Sunday evenings from 4 to 6 pm.Daily entrance fees or season passes available; discount for Yountville residents.
The Yountville Community Pool offers a party area that can be reserved during recreational swim hours for your party or group. For $100, the area can be used for up to four hours for your group of up to 20 people and includes picnic tables and early entrance for set up.

Napa High School, Napa
Opens June 13 (through August 4)
Monday-Thursday and Saturday from 1-4 pm
City of Napa residents are welcome to use the pool at Napa High School for recreational swim at no cost, while the school is on summer break.

Swimming Holes
There are a few swimming holes, one at Yountville Crossroads Park, another under the Zinfandel Bridge in St. Helena, and one at the end of Moore Creek Trail. Bothe-Napa State Park also has a spring-fed swimming pool. We haven’t been to these yet but we’ll share more when we do. Or if you’ve been, share your experiences with us!
